It is amazing what happens when you quit drinking, especially if you are a heavy drinker. It happened to me too, actually withing the first month.

I used to be a beer drinker. 12-14 beers a night, that’s approximately 154 calories per bottle times 14 equals over 2000 calories just for one night. Plus our bodies can’t distinguish calories that are in liquid form so you never get full. Within the first month after finishing my stay in rehab counselors started telling me that I am losing weight. Although I am not a heavy person I was still in disbelief. I have lost close to over 30lbs without doing anything. You would be amazed how alcohol destroys your body and puts up the weight.

The other thing that I noticed after I stopped drinking is that I finally started to get back liveliness back into my face and eyes. I can’t describe that but it definitely makes you much more attractive. Plus my red face started to fade, not quickly but slowly with time. God did I used to feel embarrassed about my red, puffy face!

And that is just a few physical things that happen to you once you stop drinking. I could probably keep on going for a long time about all the benefits of quitting alcohol.
